Find the bottleneck first
There is no single perfect worker for every base. Start by finding the queue: missing ingots, idle plantations, weak power generation or finished items waiting to be transported.
Then choose a Pal for that specific job. A high level in the needed suitability is often more valuable than many low-level skills when a production step must run continuously.
Build complete production chains
Food needs Planting, Watering, Gathering and sometimes Cooling. Item production depends on raw materials, Handiwork and Transporting. Furnaces need Kindling, while advanced machines need reliable Electricity.
Improving only one step moves the queue downstream. Evaluate the chain from raw material to storage instead of judging one Pal in isolation.
- Mining and Transporting keep ore moving.
- Planting, Watering and Gathering supply food.
- Kindling powers smelting and cooking.
- Electricity supports automated machines.
When generalists are useful
A generalist can cover several jobs on a small base and save space. On a specialized base, frequent task switching can make production less predictable.
Use CatchForge's work filter to compare levels, then replace generalists with specialists where speed and reliability matter most.
