Give every slot a job

A strong team is more than five Pals with high attack. A useful lineup covers routine fights, dangerous Alpha Pals, world traversal and unexpected elemental matchups.

Before adding a member, ask which problem it solves. If two Pals fill the same role, the second should clearly strengthen the team's main plan.

  • A primary attacker provides consistent damage.
  • A counter Pal answers a dangerous element.
  • A mount saves travel time.
  • A support Pal improves damage, survival or utility.

Avoid overloading one element

Three or four Pals of the same element make a team predictable. One unfavorable opponent can threaten most of the lineup at once, so general exploration benefits from several damage types.

Dual-element Pals can expand coverage, but evaluate the whole matchup because they may also introduce additional weaknesses.

Check the lineup in CatchForge

Add Pals directly from the catalog. The builder tracks all five slots, summarizes elements and work skills, and points out obvious gaps.

Treat suggestions as a starting point. A boss-specific team can be narrower, while an exploration team usually benefits from broader coverage and movement utility.
